Celebrating World Book Day 2017

Celebrating the fantastic World Book Day 2017! The school (students and teachers!) whole-heartedly embraced this magical day with a ‘dress-up’ as your favourite book character competition. The effort put in on the day, across the school, was phenomenal. With Arkham Asylum characters, Harry Potters and Alices galore, we had an incredibly entertaining day celebrating one of life’s greatest gifts: The ability to read and enjoy reading. All proceeds from World Book Day will be put towards further resources for our school library.

In English lessons on World Book Day we celebrated in a variety of ways, from creating original short drama scenarios with our ‘collection’ of dressed up book characters, storytelling, and fun book quizzes.

As part of WBD 2017, students had a huge amount of fun taking pictures of their outfits and nabbing precious memories with their friends through a ‘polaroid fun’ opportunity we had set up. Students were able to buy these polaroid to take away with them to cherish these wonderful memories.
