Eden Girls’ School, Waltham Forest has today been ranked among the best performing schools in England following the publication of the Department for Education’s interim school league tables. The national GCSE performance tables rank the school as the 12th highest performing school in England.

In the Government’s headline Progress 8 score, Eden Girls’ School, Waltham Forest achieved one of the country’s highest value-added scores with a Progress 8 score of 1.2. Progress 8 reflects the value that schools add to the progress of students, by measuring progress across eight key subjects from the age of 11 to the age when they complete their GCSEs. It means that on average the school’s pupils achieved more than one GCSE grade higher per subject than pupils of similar prior ability nationally.

Star Academies, the multi-academy trust which established and operates Eden Girls’ School, Waltham Forest, is celebrating another year of exceptional GCSE results across its schools. Five of the trust’s schools have been placed in the top 15 nationally for progress, with Tauheedul Islam Girls’ High School in Blackburn securing first place nationally for the fourth consecutive year.
