Personal Development through Enrichment, Experience and Inspiration! Online Safety

The E-Safety programme has been revisited marking E-Safety Day on the 9 March 2016 using saferinternetday.org resources reinforcing key learning points during assemblies with students entering the national #Shareaheart campaign competition. We have had six student winners in this competition. All classes took part in workshops using interactive resources from the Safer Internet Day website. New year 7 have undertaken E-Safety lesson as part of their induction programme delivered by our Director of Learning ICT and Creative Studies this Autumn Term.

In the Spring Term Ms. Ayub (DoL ICT & CS) launched the Safer Internet Day across school with competitions #giveasmile encouraging students to reflect about their safety online. A further follow up assembly will highlight the winning entries during the second week of Spring Term two. In addition PC Samplay and Ms. Dadabhoy presented in assemblies the dangers of ‘Sexting’. In particular year 10 students were shown a case study of a 15 year old who was killed in a space of two weeks when she started ‘Sexting’ with a stranger. Further heads of Years and the Senior leadership team presented on the TET Online guidance expectations to individual year group assemblies during this second term.
