Prefects Take the Lead at Eden

We have selected Prefects in KS4. It was designed for the Year 9 pupils going into year 10. The purpose of the role is to contribute to the development of a strong, effective school with an emphasis on promoting a culture of educational excellence, within a caring and secure Islamic environment enriched with the values of discipline, mutual care and respect which extends beyond the school into the wider community.

Every pupil in these 2 year groups were given an opportunity to apply.  Potential candidates had to prepare a personal statement that highlighted why they should be selected. The Principal and Rijia Hasan (teacher overseeing Leadership) had to filter the candidates through a selection process.  The process involved an application, shortlisting using a success criteria and an interview involving the Assistant head – Hannah Malik teacher and Rijia Hasan.

We have launched Head Girl and Deputy Head girl at the end of the last academic year. Again, it was a rigorous process where only the Yr. 9 pupils could apply. The have had to go through intensive application and interview to be selected.
