Pupils Raise Dough for Children in Need with Bake Sale

Our girls channelled their inner Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood to raise £1232.15 for Children in Need with a bake sale of tasty treats.

Pupils from the Blackhorse Lane school in Walthamstow got into the Great British Bake Off spirit by baking their own yummy bites to raise money for the charity, and also by selling merchandise and a non-uniform day with a spots and Pudsey Bear theme.

The young people have been working together to plan and deliver the school’s fundraising for Children in Need, while developing their own leadership and enterprise skills. The girls also gained valuable experience of motivating others by ensuring all the school’s year groups were primed to make donations and kept the fundraising momentum going throughout the week.

Shahina Ahmed, Executive Principal, of Eden Girls’ School, Waltham Forest, said:

“Raising more than £1,200 for Children in Need is a great achievement which will contribute to the charity’s outstanding work with the most vulnerable children. Our pupils know that there are young people who are not as blessed as they are, so it was a fantastic chance for them to help others less fortunate.  I am extremely proud of them all.”
