Our Open Evening

Our first ever Open Evening was held on Wednesday 15th 2014 Silver Birch House, Blackhorse Lane.  With over 400 people attending, the school was awash with activity; the Senior Leadership had to deliver their presentation twice during the evening to make sure everyone got the chance to hear about the school’s vision, aspirations and targets and to ask their questions about the practicalities of the school offer (school meals, uniform, facilities, times of the school day etc.)

All our classes were open with staff (supported by a large number of very keen student volunteers) demonstrating their own subject areas and answering questions about the curriculum, teaching and learning and enrichment activities.

All those that attended provided very valuable, and very positive, feedback about the event and about the school –
by the end of the evening the main concern for all those that attended was ‘is my child going to get in?’ .
This positive intent was later confirmed when the school received 247 applications for its 100 places.

We look forward to welcoming parents of year 6 children for admission to secondary school for 2020 to our open evening in October 2019. Further details to follow.
