Celebrations for Eden Girls’ School, Waltham Forest pupils after exceptional GCSE results
The school community at Eden Girls’ School, Waltham Forest is celebrating after its pupils secured exceptional GCSE results this summer.
School staff and parents joined pupils in school as they opened the results that will enable them to progress onto the next stage of their education.
Aleesha Amir, one of the school’s top performers, is on cloud nine after achieving the highest grade 9 in eight of her subjects and a grade 8 in three. She will be going on to study A Levels in Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Psychology. Aleesha exclaimed:
“I am so happy! Eden Girls’ School has played one of the biggest parts in my life. I feel very blessed to have had the love of my family and friends, and the invaluable support of all of my teachers this year.”
Juwayriah Amin also achieved the top grade 9 in eight subjects, grade 8 in two and a grade 7 in one. She will be going on to study A Levels in Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Economics. Juwayriah reflected on her achievements:
“These have been such a difficult and disruptive few years. It is really humbling to get through it and achieve such fantastic grades.”
Menahal Shahzad’s outstanding efforts were rewarded with grade 5s in English and Maths. She will be going on to study an A level in Sociology and BTecs in Criminology and Applied Law. Menahal commented:
“I am so happy with my results despite all the challenges that I faced. With everything all young people have been through, and the harsher grading this summer compared to last year, these grades mean so much more this year. It is not just exams that I have passed – I have also learnt lifelong lessons on resilience, positivity and optimism too.”
Aamena Mayet, Principal at Eden Girls’ School, Waltham Forest, said:
